Student Volunteer of the Month

Shelby Soule

Shelby Soule '13 is the Office of Community Service's volunteer of the month for September at Salve Regina University. Recognized for her phenomenal work with the James L. Maher Center, Soule, a nursing major, has gone above and beyond in her responsibilities as a volunteer. She began volunteering with the Maher Center last year, and as stated in her recommendation letter, "impressed upper management enough to be selected as a member of the Human Rights Committee, which sets policy to advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities."

Despite maintaining a full class load and two part-time jobs, Soule's volunteer efforts with the organization have continued this semester, and she has worked hard this past month to distribute information for the Maher Center's annual 5K fundraiser. Described as passionate and hard working, as well as an individual who exemplifies the qualities of mercy and justice, we congratulate her on the work she has done to make a difference in the community.
