Residential Programs

The Maher Center operates several different types of residential programs for our clients with developmental disabilities. These range from in-home assistance to full-time residency in one of our group homes. In all cases, our goal is to match the individual to the most appropriate program and tailor the program to their specific requirements.

Through our Family Supports program we provide in-home support services to individuals who live at home with family members.

In our Supported of Shared Living program we seek to match a Maher Center client with a community member who becomes that client's live-in provider.

In addition, the Maher Center currently operates 13 group homes and 16 apartments for adults with developmental disabilities in several East Bay communities. Programs and support in each group home is customized to the specific requirements of the residents who may have behavioral difficulties, require a high level of medical attention or may have restricted mobility.

All our facilities are staffed with professional staff with the special skills and experience required to attend to the needs of the residents of the group home. And in all cases, we are careful to match the client with the staff and residential support program that will help to ensure a positive outcome.
