Walter Jachna

Chairman Board of Directors

Walter Jachna joined the Maher Center in 2003. He graduated from Valley Forge Military College, Bridgewater State College and Community College of Rhode Island. He holds degrees in history, education and paralegal.

Mr. Jachna owned and operated a private security agency for many years and operated a wholesale uniform company. He has served on the CCRI Foundation since 1998, which raises funds for its four campuses and promotes the college. He is also a member of the Society of the Knights and Chafee Society at CCRI. His prior business experience along with the knowledge he garnered from serving on the CCRI Foundation will be of value in assisting our Center in dealing with current challenges as well as to better position it to meet future challenges.

He resides in Newport with his wife Eileen. His sister-in-law Sheila Jeanes was a client for over forty years and Walter's in- laws, Thomas and Josephine Jeanes were one of the original founding families of the Center.
