Barbara Burns

Maher Center Board Member

Barbara Burns joined the Maher Center in 2011. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island and holds a degree in Literature and Education.

Ms. Burns has recently retired having had a long career in Human Resources and Marketing in technology corporations Digital Equipment/Compaq, Siemens, GTECH and Dassault Systemes. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Rhode Island and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ms. Burns resides in Portsmouth with her husband, David Hughes. Her sister, Mary Burns, is a client and a member of the team at the Maher Garden Center.
